Spring is in the air for $2m Lotto winner

One lucky Lotto player in Napier will be full of the joys of spring after winning $2 million with Lotto First Division tonight.

"This win will be a welcome surprise for this winner. This prize could pay off the mortgage, buy a new home, or pay for that trip around the world they’ve been dreaming off," says NZ Lotteries’ Chief Executive Wayne Pickup.

The winning ticket was sold at Countdown Carlyle in Napier.

Powerball has jackpotted this week, and Powerball First Division will be worth $7 million next weekend.

Strike has also jackpotted and will be worth $600,000 next weekend.

Meanwhile, Michele and Rob from Tokoroa won $100,000 on the Winning Wheel at the live draw in Wellington this evening.

All Lotto players are automatically in the draw to win the opportunity to spin Lotto’s Winning Wheel, regardless of the type of ticket they buy. Players can check their ticket at any lottery outlet.

Tonight’s Winning Wheel ticket was bought at Mirrabooka Superette in Botany Downs, Auckland. The winning serial number is 581-22894627-20xx.
