Just four days after leading Brisbane Roar to back-to-back A-League championships, Ange Postecoglou has been confirmed as Melbourne Victory's new coach.

Postecoglou, 46, joined the Victory on a three-year deal on Thursday after rewriting the A-League record books at the Roar.

The former Socceroo and South Melbourne player has won four national titles as a coach - two in the old National Soccer League with South and two with the Roar.

As well as two A-League grand final wins, Postecoglou guided the Roar to a record 36-match unbeaten streak over an 18-month period.

It is an all-time Australian top-flight football code streak, breaking NSW rugby league side Eastern Suburbs' record set 74 years ago.
