Former Juventus president Giovanni Cobolli Gigli says Claudio Marchisio is the man to succeed Alessandro del Piero.

Del Piero's No 10 shirt has so far remained unassigned, but Giovanni Cobolli Gigli thinks that Turin-born Marchisio could become the club's new flag-bearer.

"Life continues by looking to the future, but the memory of what Del Piero was will last forever," Cobolli Gigli told Radio Sportiva.

"He was the greatest player in the club's history alongside Giampiero Boniperti. Now let us hope that we can find a worthy successor and that could be Marchisio."
