Marseille boss Elie Baup is sorry to have lost Alou Diarra to West Ham United.

The France midfielder completed his move yesterday.

"He is an experienced player that could have been utilised to help our young players in defence, but we must also be aware of the current economic situation, and our officials have decided to sell," said Baup.

"We had to reduce debt. Will we replace him with another player? We will see in the coming days."
