Tottenham and Manchester City are battling for Athletic Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente.

The Daily Star says City are set to go head-to-head against Tottenham to sign forward Llorente after it was reported he was unlikely to renew with Athletic Bilbao.

Llorente, who has one year left on his existing deal, left Athletic Bilbao shocked earlier this week when he revealed that he would not be extending his contract at the Basque club.

A report on Spanish website vozpopuli states that the Llorente's relationship with manager Marcelo Bielsa has broken down to such an extent that the Basque striker does not want to continue under his management.
