Norwich City defender Daniel Ayala has joined Championship club Nottingham Forest on loan.

The 21-year old Spanish centre-back has signed a season-long deal with Forest to gain regular first team football under new manager Sean O'Driscoll.

Forest chairman Omar Al Hasawi was thrilled to welcome Ayala to the club especially after the youngster experienced Premier League football with the Canaries last term.

"It is pleasing to have signed a player with such a wonderful pedigree," he told the club's official website.

"He's only 21 but has experienced life in the Premier League as well as in the Championship, and adds to the defensive resources at Sean O'Driscoll's disposal."
