Athletic Bilbao have no plans to upgrade Fernando Llorente's contract.

The striker has less than 12 months to run on his current deal and is a target for Manchester United and Manchester City.

United are open to securing Llorente on a pre-contract in January and Spanish sources say his departure from Bilbao now appears certain.

The Basque club have no interest in meeting Llorente's wage demands and are prepared to lose him next summer - if not sooner.
