Fulham defender Matthew Briggs was delighted to play a part in last season's Europa League campaign.

Briggs is tipped to be a first team regular at Fulham.

"Playing in the Europa League early in the season was good experience for me and a really good campaign to be involved in," Briggs told fulhamfc.com. "Obviously we didn't go as far as I hoped we would, and unfortunately we got knocked out of the League Cup and FA Cup, so I didn't get as many games as I would have liked.

"Those are the kind of competitions I have been playing in, so the longer we are in them the better for me. Unfortunately that wasn't the case this year but there is next season to look forward to now."
