Tottenham development coach Tim Sherwood is set for promotion in a stunning management shake-up at White Hart Lane.

The Sun says Spurs are poised to promote Sherwood to director of football.

Sherwood is one of the few surviving members of sacked Harry Redknapp's backroom staff and is in line for a second promotion in two years.

The former Spurs midfielder, 43, was appointed technical co-ordinator in 2010 with the responsibility to manage player development across all squads.
