Tim Ream is set to complete his move from New York Red Bulls to Bolton Wanderers after obtaining a work permit.

The 24-year old USA international defender has been close to signing for the Trotters for a few weeks and will now get the opportunity to play in the Premier League with the BBC suggesting a $3million will be finalized very soon.

The move paves the way for former Chicago Fire defender Wilman Conde to join the club although New York head coach Hans Backe doesn't necessarily feel that Conde's arrival is reliant on Ream's departure.

"No, (it's not reliant on Ream moving). But we're just saying that Tim will get his papers. If not, we will have a lot of centerbacks,'' Backe told the NY Post.

"If Tim comes back, we will have four centerbacks. But I think it's possible to have almost - as we said - two (reserves) at each position. That will work.''
