Pietersen text contents aired in UK media

NZ Newswire August 19, 2012, 9:42 pm

Kevin Pietersen's international career is on the ropes following damning revelations of the controversial text messages he sent to his South African counterparts.

The polarising cricketer was accused of calling Andrew Strauss an offensive term in Afrikaans and advising South Africa's quicks how to bowl to the battling England captain during the second Test at Leeds this month.

Pietersen was dumped for the third Test at Lord's in the wake of the scandal which erupted last week.

The Mail on Sunday said that former England captain Pietersen had referred to Strauss as a "doos" - the equivalent of calling someone a "c...".

The Sunday Times said the flamboyant South African-born right-handed batsman suggested to his opponents to bowl round the wicket to the struggling Strauss.

Pietersen apologised for the texts but his defence that the messages were just "banter" and a bit "provocative" looks a bit flimsy.

The betrayal could be the final straw with English cricket authorities still calling on Pietersen to divulge the full content of his texts to the South African players.

"If he refuses to show the contents of the texts then he's finished and if he does show the texts then he's probably finished anyway," a source close to the England dressing room told The Mail on Sunday.

Bad news for the world

Listen up Losers.Instead of concerning your empty small heads with Pietersen--a World Class bat--you should be preparing for the onslaught coming the way of your own Disneyland styled Black Collapsers.

100% agreement Chris, they should charge him under whatever law they can, unfortunately assholes on here woud start talking about whinging Poms using it as an excuse for losing their No1 status, and it would give Pietersen another platform to show off his overbloated ego on. He should be kicked out of cricket and not be allowed into his lucrative IPL contract, for breach of trust. Just as bad a match fixing.

Ok here is small lesson in Afrikaans for you all. There is no official meaning for the slang word "doos". When you say it in a sentence, "this guy is a doos" it is the same as saying "this guy is a #$%$, a term I believe is widely used in NZ and most of you have probably said it about your boss :D Afrikaans has many bad words that have different meanings depending on the context it is said in. Now if wanted to call him a C*** then there are other words I would have used. As for telling SA how to bowl to him, that is unforgivable and should be dealt with severely, it falls in the same light as match fixing!

Shayamoya, not the point, I understand it probably means T*&T, the point is it is a total betrayal, especially when he also texted ideas to the opposition on how to bowl to Strauss. This is not about moral high ground, Pietersen has been a constant disruptive influence in that team since before he was captain, like Nonu, Weepu and Hore at Wellington and underachiever McCullum with the Black Caps
