Australia booted off BBC medal table

They had to suffer the humiliation of having less gold medals than New Zealand for a while, now they are suffering embarrassment on a global scale.

The BBC, official Olympics broadcaster in the UK, has booted Australia off the medal table and has instead replaced it with Yorkshire.

It seems the success of triathlon brothers Alistair and Johnathan Brownlee and Team GBs golden girl Jessica Ennis, had added to Yorkshire's tally, giving the UK county more gold medals than most countries.

Yorkshire famous for tea and puddings can now boast gold medal winners with some mail boxes even being painted the colour in Ennis' honour.
