British arch-rival Victoria Pendleton proved too strong for rival Australian Anna Meares to win the gold medal in the keirin on day two of Olympic track cycling.
Pendleton dominated the final to beat China's Shuang Guo, while Hong Kong rider Wai Sze Lee was third.
Meares, the reigning world champion, hit out in front with just over a lap left.
But she could not hold her position and finished a surprising fifth in the field of six.
