Obviously the french should have won. They were robbed by the SA referee. How nz can be delighted with such a final ?

Rudy, what about the result makes you think we are cheaters?

Did we get a try we didn't deserve?
Were the French denied a try you think they deserved?
Did we get more penalties than the French?

You know, it's easy to claim a team to be cheaters, but unless you're prepared to give some examples, you make yourself look stupid.

The reason you haven't given any examples is that there weren't any!!

Many offsides and faults on packs/groups and dangerous tackles.

I had actually come back to erase my former comment that is actually much too harsh.

This doesn't change my opinion that NZ's victory 's totally stolen due to faluts that were ignored by the referee.

What a load of @@@ moaning about the referee That is as good as it gets as far as refs goes. Actually the only decisions that I saw that unfairly disadvantaged a team were things the french got away with French played well for the first time in the cup AB;s played badly for the first time in the cp so overall ABs really deserved this After all SA won the cp in extra time in 1995 against poisoned opponents and to my mind is the only cp that has been undeserved

New Zealand is the best winner we could imagine !
OK, tonight, they almost choked and France deserved to win, as Wales last week !

I'm sad, but proud : we showed to the rugby world that France didn't deserve all this bashing by anglo-saxon press and fans.

.Congratulations AB on the tournement. you should be ashamed though of your media throwing garbages at the French ( sickening and offending) all week long. this is certainly not the spirit of Rugby.Leave that to soccer. It is also sad to spoil a RWC final with a referee so obviously biased or as a minimum lenient ( 3 high tackles,Parra clearly targeted). McCraw and Henry din't mention France once in their after game speech.I respect very much the All Blacks as an institution but this is a very little victory and they should be more humble and gracious

Good comments, Geoff. From where I sat it looked like the All Blacks had played their Final last week and this was 'Extra Time' with them more determined not to lose than to try and win. France played the better rugby, but last night it still wasn't good enough.

Maybe that's what people should look at and concentrate on, last night France played as well as they could, but it still wasn't good enough ...

It's easy to ref a game from the sideline, we'll see what we want to see and ignore that which we don't. No claims of cheating, unfair play, biased refereeing will change the result ...

The French were tougher than the Aussies etc

The All Blacks are World Champions
The All Blacks have fulfilled their destiny they have consistently been the best team in the world for decades.

They are worthy world champs

All of this is political nonsense, not sport.

In 1995, to cement the end of the apartheid, Mandela decided that SA had to win the Cup to unite white players with black supporters, so they poisoned you (what a shame, I can't still believe it... poison!)

In 2003, everybody was saying, "RWC is biased, it's always a southern country that wins", so they arranged for England to be first northern nation to win (that, and Wilkinson ;)

There also has been infamous semi-finals: France-SA, 1995, with invented faults to kick off France, Australia-SA, 2011: SA was totally ROBBED by the referee Bryce Lawrence, who managed (which means that he has a lot of talent) to make the worst Australian team ever (with Pocock, the McCaw of cheating ;) gain the upper hand against the GIANTS that were John Smit, Victor Matfield, Brian Habana, Morné Steyn... yes, these were my favourites - and the best

I'm beginning to wonder if I will stop paying attention to RWC, which encroach and is influenced by international politics; to focus on 6-Nations and Tri-Nations, which are less more biased, agreeable to watch with sometimes incredible games.

Oh, the final note: on the pool match, McCaw refused to exchange the jersey with Julien Bonnaire (which s a sign of great respect), who had gone to the NZ vestiary to ask for the favor. The reason: It was it's 100th cap. That's OK for me.

After the final, Julien tried again: McCaw refused again. A reason? None. You are the best team of the world, that is true, but also the most arrogant. And your press is hygienic paper.

After the easy beats we play in tri nations and grand slams it was good to play a team that were competitive and tough. Much better than the babies in the other teams. That is why it was close. ABs have had too many soft easy games.

Sour grapes Grochola, your team played well, you lost, it wasnt the Ref's fault, he missed things your side did so get over it....You are right though ours (and YOUR) media are a pack of #$%$s and Yes politics and sport should not mix but now you are whinging like a sore loser and commenting like a #$%$ media moron....And at the end of it all????
Our Captain raised the Cup over his head and WE are the World Champions for the NEXT FOUR YEARS!!!!!

BOO #$%$ Guru, why did the French deserve the win?? YES they played well but THEY choked when they failed to break our line to secure a win or to convert a penalty kick...they had their chances so sounds like sour grapes to me!!!

Hey no one had a choice. It's was written by the Gods. The #$%$39;s have lost 1 out of their last 9 games and won 8 7. That's 1987. So really it wasn't the ref or anyone else it was just what was meant to be.

BAD at LOSING ANYONE ?
Fully understand this ridiculous post BUT the French didn't win the ABs did and thats that.
I to, like many NZers don't like when the ABs lose and like it even less if we lose in a real close one that is decided by penalties but this is a natural reaction....
So as I said above, fully understand this post but bad luck this time around, we are the world champs..... finally!
