Truesup and for the first time for along time no FIJIANS watch out they will all head over to OZ And as for that TOEAVA CAN'T YOU SEE HE CAN NOT I REPEAT CAN NOT HANDLE THE PRESSURE.......................SEEN IT ALL TOO OFTEN WHEN HE GETS IN FUMBLE,FUMBLE,FUMBLE.HOPELESS ...............AND it seems everyone is fine after been injured for so long and then all of a sudden they're fine whereas some of the guys worked their guts out to get into the world cup squad and bang........................not fair, not fair. .
I agree Sivi has had his day and it wasnt short. His game against Fiji, he was playing out of his skin, showed he hasnt done that for some time. Good yes but he is off overseas anyway and we need young blood in the big ones. The ABs I think are late starters in this respect and it may cost us. Guildford doesnt have style, but he reads the game exceptionally well, like Habanna who also isnt the prettiest runner either. He needs to be a resident winger to mature. Jane is the only other winger that has the vision and anticipation for that level, plus he is unshakable. Toeava like Sivi has a history of inconsistency along with brilliant moments. Lets stick to the consistent ones. Every replacement from center to wings need to be taken by Kahui otherwise its wasted investment of time. Jane can cover Dagg. And Dagg should be resident fullback, why waste time with yesterdays men? SA and Australia wont.
This All Blacks team is supposed to be The Invincibles: Part 2..unfortunantly if you don't have Sivivatu in this squad that wont happen..if this is going to be a repeat of 2007, Graham Henry should stand down from his postion as the All Blacks coach..
CONGRATES to G H for picking his BEST men who would be the RWC 2011 hopefulls for NEW ZEALAND, lets just pray that he hasn't made the worst decision of his life by leaving out Sivivatu as we all know he raises to the occasion when the situation gets tough as required and produces some sincilating moves that results in alot of tries being scored .all in all, he is the idle choice for a wing when a team is on the back foot or even on the front foot and cannot break the defencive line THAT IS WHEN HE IS VERY SHARP in reading the defencive line and crate something out of nothing, he is what you call an X-FACTOR where by when things are not going your way he starts popping up everywhere at critical moments to save the day and possibily the WORLD CUP CAMPAIGN so once again good luck G H you'll really need it this time, at the end of the day its cool heads, tries and points that win the game not young blood and inexperiance at the very pinnacle of rugby history in NZ. CHEERS
Well, good wake up call for the guys last night. Mr Gear must be having a little smile on his face after that performance by Zac. Very hard done by again I'm afraid to say. I think once we have regrouped and taken a good hard look at the first half, we will be better prepared for the business end of the world cup tourament. Look forward to comments...........
Here we go again. the selectors seem to think that flexibility is what is needed in the outside backs department. We have only one specialist winger in Guilford who was found wanting last night. We have seen the flexibility strategy before - McDonald to centre, Cullen to centre.... Specialism will win the world cup - Gear and Sivivatu should have been there. Why does Weepu have a nap and a cup of tea before clearing the ball. Lets pick a distributer who is quick and can get the go forward rather than allow the opposition time to organise their defence.
Good effort last night Zac or was it Guilford or was he even there at all last night, at least with Sivi you would just have the feeling that he woul be everlasting trying to try something or everything to get through the defencive line and set up tries or be at the end of a move to score or comming in at critical attacking positions to provide continuity and set up play...it's TRIES !!!!! we want guys not versatility in who can play in more than one position, WHATS THE USE IF YOU CANNOT MAKE POINTS...have a pleasant day G H...Hosea and Sivi you guys just sit back and enjoy the comedy ( its time for you two guys to look for greener pastures, make some serious money) ALL THE BEST on your future endeavours.
sivivatu has more experience and depth can create anything out of nothing gilford lacks depth maybe good when running loose just see how samu who was dumped made a huge difference in aussies win tri-nations
Sivivatu has picked up the Rokokoko syndrome - Fijian languid lope at half pace. Doesn't run hard on to the ball and go straight up the field. Old backs seem to think they have all the time in the world and can do it all in third gear - Zac pins his ears back ( like Cory Jane also) from the start - he will improve from this !
Guildford improve by world cup YEAH RIGHT. Sivi and Gear were coming into some great form. Sivi broke that Wallabies defence line set up and even scored tries himself in Eden park. Guildford cannot compare. Not in same league. He CHOKED... maybe he'll mature in a year or so but this year was too early and that was entirely GH fault for making wrong selections.
Zac had a shocker!, and TBH, I dont think he's big enough....The Fijians are just the same IMV, lazy half the time, fumble the next, they have had their time... If I was GH, I would have Dagg instead of Mils, who is now pedestrian to everyone who has played him before...SBW would have been interesting on the wing, shame the 3 alleged wise ones dont have the same flare to try something left field like their players do!
i dont know what you people have against fijians. Sure they're black, large and super talented they don't look like they even try but it des not mean they're lazy. You watched Sivis tri nations form of Roko's itm games? if you call that lazy than i say your JEALOUS. Yes Sivi doesnt look as enthusiastic as Guildford or others but the bottom line is Sivi is just that much more TALENTED. Sivi's relaxed attitude means that in big pressure games he doesnt crack like some little white boys and drop balls all over the field, he rises to the occasion. You make the same mistake as Henry picking someone who pleases you over someone who'll actually score and win you a game. Favouritism resulted in ABs loss last night be honest ZAC CHOKED and isnt up to test rugby standards. You cannot afford to throw away Sivivatu's depth and experience at a world cup and Henry's arrogance in doing so may well cost us the Cup.
I agree that Weepu is too slow on getting the ball clear from scrum half position. Lets get Jimmy Cowan in there, and keep the game running a lot faster. Even the forwards along with the backs look confused when Weepu goes on a power trip to control the game. Weepu move the ball faster or move over for Jimmy cowan or Andy Ellis. This is a world cup competition not a day out in the park.
No Gear and Sivi means no World Cup glory - simple as that. If you compare their performances against the Aussies at Eden Park to the performance of Zac and Cory Jane in Brisbane you will get my drift. Sivi and Gear did everything right (even the coaches admit this) while Zac fumbled and choked, and invisible Cory was nowhere to be seen on the park. The only memory i have of Cory Jane in that game was of him getting a piggy-back ride, along with Mils on Aussie no.8, Samo as he dived over for a try. Time for someone to get "injured" to allow Gear or sivi back in - but that's if we want to win the Cup. Unfortunately GH seems to want to lose the RWC with the stupid selections he makes, which we all will have to pay for dearly!!
Gear was utterly lame- seriously- what did he do in the first Australia test? What about the RSA test? I'll tell you- nothing- nada- mr invisible- made up the numbers- and people want this non-event in the ABs? Sivi was awful in the Australia test- he bombed several excellent scoring opportunities and missed at least three serious tackles- one leading to an Aussie try- and you people want him in the team? Toeava was- along with Dagg and Cowan the only effective back in the RSA test- he broke the Saffa line at least five times and watched his hard work get bombed before the ball could be touched down. But he should be removed from the team? Do you people actually know anything about the game of rugby?
Gear was actually very good on defence and set up a try in RSA. And plaese dont make me laugh Sivi broke that wallabies line and actually SCORED. The wallabies are relieved he s not in th team he's the only one who can actually carve up their tight defence play. What did Toeava and Guildford do against th same wallabies? thats right NOTHING. When the going gets tough (not ITM level or super rugby) these little boys crack. Both were smashed by the wallabies and Toeava was lucky to get off for trying to trip that wallabies player. I for one hope that Henry's arrogant enough to play them both again in a big test match.
We are short of a winger either Sivivatu or Gear should have been named ahead of Toeava, we have enough midfield backs and I don,t see Toeava as a back 3 player.
The other position is open side flanker perhaps we could have selected a specialist no7 in case of injury to McCaw Three hookers always seemed like an overkill.
I do have the benefit of hindsight when making these comments who would know two loose forwards would get injured before the cup even starts, but on the wing Guildford is now under huge pressure to show his worth
I miss Sivi. Can cut loose from anywhere, has a nice grubber kick and chase and lethal accelleration and experience. Will be sadly missed.BRING BACK SIVI
