Chiefs prop Ben Tameifuna has been suspended for one week after being cited for a dangerous tackle in Saturday night's 37-6 Super Rugby final win against the Sharks in Hamilton.
Tameifuna's shoulder-high tackle on Sharks No.8 Ryan Kankowski came in the 47th minute, and Sanzar's citing commissioner decided it met the red card threshold for foul play.
Sanzar judicial officer Nicholas Davidson accepted a guilty plea from Tameifuna, suspending him from all forms of rugby up to and including August 18.
The suspension means Tameifuna will miss the final of the Hawke's Bay club competition as well as a scheduled pre-ITM Cup match.
