Joseph to continue as Highlanders coach

NZ Newswire July 10, 2012, 3:46 pm

Highlanders coach Jamie Joseph has re-signed to stay on with the Super Rugby side for two more years.

Joseph, who took over at the Dunedin-based franchise in 2011, says he has unfinished business.

The former All Black and Otago representative says the Highlanders have made real progress over the past two seasons.

He wanted to continue in his role because of his goal of taking the team to a Super Rugby final.

The Highlanders finished eighth in 2011 and, with one round to go, are ninth in this season's competition and out of play-off contention.

NZRU general manager of professional rugby Neil Sorensen says Joseph has helped to re-ignite the Highlanders and their supporters.
