After the England World Cup debacle it may surprise a few that I fancy England to win the next WC.

Home advantage is clearly the main reason, after all the ABs have only won the WC at home, but there are other points too.

The massive potential of new players in England is just waiting to be tapped.

Financially England are way above anyone and that includes France.  The near bankruptcy of the Aussie and NZ Boards will take its toll.

Coupled with the clean sweep brushing away the old guard farts at the RFU and appointing a truly professional coaching staff, which will tighten the ethos of the the players, will make England a formidable force.

    GO ENGLAND

No surprises there, kip. You poms always like to talk yourselves into world championship status before the ball is in play.

The big problem with England- or any home nation for that matter is the massive amount of foreign players in their domestic comps.
This is one main reason England has faded as a world football (soccer) power, the Premier league is full of foreigners and home grown players a few and far between- and of low skills compared to players from other nations.
The same can be said for their rugby- name one England player who is superior to their New Zealand, Aussie or Saffa counterpart.
You can't because there are none- the dour, dreadfully dull English rugby competitions do not produce quality players- the Super comps create an excess of them- look how many NZ players abandon the country for the UK, Ireland, France or Japan and the ABs are world number one and RWC champs.
Sorry kip mate, you head back to dream land because there is little chance of your team becoming a real world power while there are domestic teams filled with foreign players and semi skilled, overrated English players dwelling in the shadow of their superior southern hemisphere counterparts.

polly every host is  capable, NZ an SA are the only two teams to never lose a cup at home, an in 95 SA was extremely lucky, very poor management by ther ABs was a critical factor in the ABs  95 team not delaying that game, one they were extremely sick an the other management did not realise by how much,Earl kirton stated they shouldnt have allowed  sick players to take the field, an two, poor management regarding food, had they delayed the final, like the SA offered, who knows , certainly the ABs where on fire, thats history now,England are the dark horse as well as France an Wales, however for  mind it is the rule interpretation at every WC that decides outcomes ,much the same occured in 2011, what has change is the way internationals approach the WC, resting players from other duties, ie the Tri Nations  was a joke, SA  an NZ fielded weak teams wilth Australia  just rolling over the top with home ground advantage,This year its back to normal an ALL teams will field their best,I believe they should cancel the Tris an 6 Nations leading into a WC, an play it soon after, having decided a World champion. however sponser would never allow it because its all about revenue,All I know is I doubt OZ will beat ENG at home...that leaves it open for the ABs an SA...lol..
