Clash with Beautiful Fighter turns ugly

Posted by Odd Balls - Mon, 22 Aug 2011 14:19

A televised clash between a South Korean kickboxing star and three Japanese comedians was supposed to be a bit of a laugh, but it ended up being anything but for the female fighter.

Known as 'Beautiful Fighter' to her fans, South Korean kickboxing star Lim Su-Jeong went on Japanese TV show 'Flames Sports Competition'  to take on the men in what was supposed to be a ‘mock’ fight.

But instead Lim was beaten and seriously injured by the men, with the incident causing outrage in South Korea.

The three comedians were all wearing helmets and protective gear, while Lim wore just gloves.

But what is perhaps worse is that the comedians – Toshiaki Kasuga, Hiroshi Shinagawa and Koji Imada are said to have backgrounds in martial arts as they kicked Lim down "as skillfully as pros."

Lim and her management team are reported to have demanded an apology from the show’s producers while some have speculated that the comedians failed to hold back due to ongoing tension between Korea and Japan.

Whatever the case, there can be no excuse for such disgusting incident.

Check out footage of the fight HERE!

Is it a possibility that the 3 sports show comedians are just misogynistic dorks like many sports show comedians across the world??

A bit of creative writing here. She could have beaten the sh*t out of those idiots but was holding back. There is no love lost between Koreans and Japanese but this show just demonstrates the awful way that the xenophobic Japanese treat other nations.

This is the way South Koreans see this issue: You pilaged our country, you still claim our land as your own and you continue to abuse our people, especially our women. This is the way Japanese see this isue: We know we have fighting experience, we won't give her any protection, we'll make it three men against just her, we'll call it a play fight but we won't hold back, it'll look like fun because we're comedians... and we'll make it a draw...but the moral victory will be ours. Mansei! Now you be the judge!

I honestly can't see what the big deal is. Doesn't seem newsworthy

It was always going to be a suspect exercise; putting three guys up against a much smaller gal. She should keep her hands up more.

I wrote a reply to this stating that the 3 guys had already fought another women and lost big time. this women was offered head gear but declined it!! This was a set up staged fight if the korean didnt want to do why do it. And as for seriously injured what a joke she was fine able to talk and laugh afterwards. Obviously a korean waygook writer!!

Watched the video clip - she took them on one at a time and chose to continue - not like all three of them attacked at once and beat her up in a few minutes . Not an easy call but everyone participated of their own choosing .

To the writer - You lack any kind of journalistic insight and bring down the quality of content and news reporting to another unprecedented low. How you could connect this story to international politics is ludicrous even for the most simple of minds. In short, you make me regret being a human!
