A stark contrast in experience levels between the Warriors' new captain and the outgoing leader.
23-year old Simon Mannering will take over the job from 35-year old Steve Price in a surprise move by the NRL club.
Mannering says his captaincy experience is limited, but he says he has played alongside some great captains who he has gained a lot from. He says he intends to use the likes of Price, Micheal Luck and the retired Ruben Wiki as he finds his feet in the job.
Mannering expects to lead by example rather than with words when he takes over the captaincy next season. He says he is not a natural talker but will speak up when something needs to be said.
Natural disappointment from Steve Price following his shock dumping as captain.
Coach Ivan Cleary was charged with breaking the news to him. He says Price loved the job and was passionate about it, but he says the former skipper has already offered Mannering his support and believes he can help in the back-rowers' development as a leader.
Cleary says the decision to remove Price as captain is not a reflection on Price personally. He says although it affects Price on a personal level, it is not a decision based on the individual.
" It's about the club and what's best for our future"
Cleary says it has nothing to do with talk Price may have become stale in the role.
No decision on a vice-captain has been made as yet.
