Triathlon New Zealand is looking for a central training base in order to get back to its Olympic glory days as a new four year cycle begins.
Andrea Hewitt's sixth place in London was the best of the New Zealanders, with the sport receiving targeted funding from Sport NZ.
Officials have just presented to HPSNZ for the next funding round.
National coach Greg Fraine says they're looking at a couple of centres as potential bases.
"We've identified that the best practice is to have a HUB where our athletes are based and we have the best coaching, the best athletes, best facilities that will give us the best possible chance of giving us a positive outcome."
Nelson, Rotorua and Cambridge are being considered as training bases.
