Kiwi on track for Olympic double

New Zealander Hugh McCutcheon remains on course for an outstanding Olympic double.

McCutcheon has guided the US women’s volleyball team into the gold medal match, beating Korea 3-0 in the semi-final.

McCutcheon, originally from Christchurch, coached the US men’s team to the gold medal at the Beijing games.

The US women haven’t dropped a game in pool play either and are the world number one side.

But they have never won Olympic gold – losing to Brazil in the final four years ago.

They’ll play either Brazil or Japan in the final.
