New Zealand has claimed their first gold of the London Olympics.

Rowers Nathan Cohen and Joseph Sullivan have won their men's double sculls final at Eton Dorney.

The world champions were fifth at the 1000m metre mark and fourth at the 1500m mark before storming home in the final quarter.

They beat out Italy and Slovenia's crews in a time of 6min and 31.67sec.

It's our third medal of the Olympics and second rowing medal.
