One of Nick Willis’ key Olympic rivals is absent from the 1500m start list.
There's no sign of Djibouti's Souleiman Ayanleh, who is the fourth fastest in the world this year.
Willis says Ayanleh has come from nowhere and would have been a dangerous opponent.
"He could've done anything at these Games, maybe run a world record who knows. With him not there it just makes the competition a little less when we're battling out for those medals."
Willis is in action on the first night of the Olympic track and field programme.
He's lining up in the final 1500m heat tomorrow morning.
