Funding blamed for Aus Olympic disappointment

They may have their second gold of the Games, but the post-mortem into Australia's campaign is underway.

Olympics reporter Rikki Swannell says for the powers that be, Australia's poor showing to date is no laughing matter.

An independent review into the swimming team's supposed failure has already been ordered, with its flagship squad producing its lowest medal haul in 20 years.

They ended up with 10, including just one relay gold.

IOC member Kevin Gosper is blaming a lack of government funding.
