Todd second in eventing express

Double Olympic gold medalist Mark Todd has finished second in the first leg of equestrian's quickfire Express Eventing series at ExCel Arena in London on Sunday (NZT).

Australia's Lucinda Fredericks and Flying Finish clocked up 24.00 points to Todd's final tally of 26.55.

Express eventing is run over one day. It consists of a freestyle dressage test to music, an arena cross-country course followed immediately by a show jumping course immediately after, in which riders have the option to erase four points from their score by clearing a joker fence.

The remainder of the Express Eventing series will take place next year at the Lincolnshire County Show, the CLA Game Fair in Warwickshire, and the RDS Show in Dublin, with an additional venue not yet announced.
