New Zealand's Joanne Kiesanowksi has to hope for a major turnaround in fortunes if she is to win a medal in the omnium at Olympic track cycling.
The 33-year-old is 11th on 30 points after three of the six events, and is 13 behind Australia's Annette Edmondson in third.
Britain's Laura Trott and American Sarah Hammer share the lead on 12 points.
Kiesanowksi could record only the 16th fastest time in the opening event the flying lap and but improved to finish seventh on the 20km points race and the elimination race.
The last three events, the individual pursuit, scratch race and time trial, will be raced on Tuesday.
