A batch of hot cocoa has prompted firefighters to evacuate a chocolate factory on the NSW north coast.
Superintendent Ian Krimmer of Fire and Rescue NSW says a hopper of the powder is burning at the Nestle factory in Smithtown on the NSW coast, north of Kempsey.
"These fires can take some time to extinguish, it could take most of the day," he said on Friday.
The factory had been evacuated because the smouldering cocoa was producing a large amount of smoke, Supt Krimmer said.
"About 120 people have been moved to safety," he said.
He said there had been no injuries and fire crews would likely remain on scene for several hours.
