A soccer player who collapsed during a match in Croatia was yellow-carded by a referee for diving, despite the fact he was dead.
32-year-old defender Goran Tunjic, who reportedly had no health problems, collapsed after a fatal heart attack in the 35th minute of a fifth division match between Mladost FC and Hrvatski Sokol, the Croatian Times reports.
The referee yellow carded Tunjic for taking a dive but then realised he wasn't faking and called the medical unit to the field.
The player was taken to a hospital but could not be revived.
"Doctors have tried to help him, but there was nothing they could do", a club representative told daily newspaper Vecernji List.2-6 6-2 3-6

taking diving to a whole new level. Kinda funny but very tragic at the same time.
Replyevery-body will start doing it now,we all know how these soccer players like to follow trends, like planking.Wharfie would have red carded him at the morgue.
ReplyBloody great move Goran, I can see the Phoenix team laying about like stiffs at a freeze out with whistles blowing like a highland pipe band at the tattoo.
ReplyThe boy who cried wolf comes to mind. Damned sorry that he shuffled off but you can't blame the referee for giving the yellow card.
ReplyNow that is taking acting too far..No wonder soccer is such a badly officated game.
