Blackgrove wins tour

Zookeepers' rider Heath Blackgrove has secured the 2009 Tour of Southland title before being whisked away to get married.

The American-based professional has won the event for the first time in his 10th attempt, finishing more than a minute ahead of Nelson's Jack Bauer.

Zookeepers' team-mate Sam Bewley says the entire team then donned their 'number ones' for Blackgrove's wedding. Bewley says it is going to be a pretty cool night and what more can Blackgrove ask for, the Tour of Southland victory and a wedding in the same day.

Frenchman Romain Fondard won the final stage for Share the Road.
