Finally something to smile about for Team Enterprise cyclist Jeremy Yates.
Yates has claimed stage six of the Tour of Southland from Lumsden to the Crowne Range, ahead of Aaron Strong and Peter Latham.
He says he did not have the ideal preparation for the tour this year.
"I've had a pretty difficult run into the tour. I didn't touch the bike the whole of August, I was busy renovating my kitchen, so there's a bit of training missed and I paid heavily for that coming into this tour."
Jack Bauer continues to hold the yellow jersey, finishing fourth on stage six.
