South African Rugby Union president Oregan Hoskins is set to be slapped with a $A20,000 fine for his comments slamming the Sanzar judiciary.
Hoskins hit out at the judicial process in the wake of the three-game ban a Sanzar judiciary handed Springbok hooker Bismarck du Plessis in the wake of this month's Tri Nations test in Dunedin.
De Plessis had been cited for an alleged facial.
The judiciary eventually found him guilty of "recklessly making contact" with the eye area of Adam Thomson's face.
The ruling came in the wake of a one-week ban handed to All Black lock Brad Thorn for his dangerous throw on Springbok captain John Smit in the Tri Nations opener in Wellington.
Smit was injured in the incident and has since had Tri Nations-ending groin surgery.
Hoskins told Supersport that he had "heard" he would be fined, but as yet he was yet to be notified officially by Sanzar.
But he stuck to his guns, including making a new allegation that Australian referees were not up to scratch.
"I feel strongly about it. I don't want to be in any deeper trouble but we have to address the matter," he said.
"I have already written to Tim Gresson, chairman of Sanzar's disciplinary committee. It is encouraging that he received it in the right spirit and that he will review the whole matter.
"I may be wrong but at the moment we have to appoint referees from the Sanzar countries. I know there is a major debate about it because there is a feeling that the Australian referees are not up to standard."
Hoskins had earlier unleashed a strong verbal tirade at the Sanzar judicial process following du Plessis' banning.
He said on arrival in Perth last week that considering inconsistencies in the judicial process, "it's unacceptable for us to put up with this".
He said Bok management believed du Plessis was innocent of any wrong-doing. But they did not appeal the three-week ban due to the lengthy process.
"It would be remiss of me to remain silent because I believe the sentence was extremely harsh," Hoskins said.
"I was quite shocked by the outcome of the hearing and I'm concerned about the whole system and its consistency.
"I will table those concerns with Sanzar this week."
