For some inexplicable reason people like Kim Kardashian.

We at Yahoo! New Zealand, however, prefer our heroines to actually be capable of clear thought and have some actual ability.

Which is why the ass-kicking "Rowdy" Ronda Rousey has been our number one star since she started destroying the rest of the female MMA fighters.

The former Olympic judo medalist has made a name for herself in the last couple of years with sensational performances against much more experienced fighters.

And now she has a title she has set her eye on the untalented one herself, Kim Kardashian.

On the red carpet for the annual ESPY awards the Kardashians were brought up and the Strikeforce champion went off on one:

"You know what? I would beat the crap out of Kim Kardashian, actually," she said.

"Why is everyone slipping it under the carpet now?" she asked.

"I don’t want some girl whose entire fame is based on a sex video to be selling Sketchers to my 13-year-old little sister.

It’s just not healthy and [my 13-year-old sister] doesn’t need to have role models like this."

Rousey was then given the opportunity to reflect on her statement as some wondered whether she had gone too far. But Rousey just double down on her thoughts.

"She's like a glorified pornstar that's been taken and somehow pushed to be some sort of role model. She sells Skechers to little kids in ads all over the place," she told TMZ.

"What kind of example does that set? When my little sister is watching this stuff and thinking "Wow! If I "perform fellatio" on a C-list celebrity, I'll suddenly have fame and stuff."

"It's just wrong in every way and, if I had a chance, if I had to pick anyone, of course I would beat her up."

We wouldn't pay $35 to see Jaime Ridge beating some bimbo from the GC - but we'd pay a damn-site more to see Rowdy Ronda armbar Kim Kardashian...

Rousey is the most awesome woman on the planet, not only is there daylight between her and everyone else in womans MMA but I think she could beat many men around and a bit under her weight. And she's totally awesome looking.

Can't not like somebody who wants to beat the #$%$ out of some one as pointless as Kim but, really this is not important. Here is a story i have not seen in the local media. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has given British scientists a multi-million pound grant to develop GM crops in what could be the most significant PR endorsement for the controversial technology.

So posing nude apart from a pair of boxing gloves for a magazine cover is setting a good example for 13 year old girls. Classy. Just as bad as the people being critisized.
