British Formula One star Lewis Hamilton swapped pit-stops for hip-hop on a wild night out with a US rapper.

The McLaren ace is reported to have partied the night away with Jay-Z protégé J Cole and a bevy of girls.

According to British newspaper The Sun, Hamilton and the rapper have now become such good mates they are planning to collaborate on tracks in a recording studio.

"J invited him to his studio the next time Lewis is in the US and said they could work on music together. Lewis said he’d repay him by sorting him out at any Grand Prix he wanted to go to." A source told the tabloid.

Apparently Hamilton has long held aspirations of becoming a music star; reportedly spending thousands on studio time.

But it is thought he wanted to keep his efforts a secret.
