Young league player's body found on beach

Yahoo! New Zealand Sport October 8, 2012, 7:29 pm

A body found at the base of cliffs on Freshwater Beach in Sydney late last night is believed to belong to a player from NRL club Manly.

The police today contacted the Sea Eagles today, but the club have declined to make any comment.

The Daily Telegraph in Australia, however, is reporting that the dead man is a member of the team's NSW Cup squad.

Family members were informed before the club, but the coroner is likely to wait until tomorrow before formally identifying the man.

The Telegraph reports the man was found still wearing a suit.

Police are still investigating the cause of death.

Mountain man...don't jump to conclusions when you don't know the facts. Maybe he's been out drinking and gone for a walk and fallen. Who knows...
