Sironen finds voice with Tigers

As he attempts to find his spot in the Wests Tigers side, rookie five-eighth Curtis Sironen says he'll only be as dominant as he wants to be.

After a quiet return from minor knee surgery in last week's loss to Canterbury, Sironen was far more involved in Saturday night's 26-18 win over Penrith, including a clever inside ball to set up Chris Lawrence's first-half try.

It was part of a concerted effort by both the 18-year-old and Tigers coach Tim Sheens to get the playmaker more touches, Sheens knowing the importance of having a third option behind key duo Benji Marshall and Robbie Farah.

"I didn't get that many touches last week, I was a bit disappointed so I was trying to get involved early," Sironen told AAP.

"Chrisy called for the ball, I just popped it up and he went through.

"He (Sheens) showed a lot of confidence in me and I wanted to repay him a bit."

But making an impact in a team which features Marshall and Farah as the primary ball-handlers can be difficult, especially for a teenager with just five top-grade games to his name.

Sironen though says he has to get the ball more for the good of the team, even if it means calling over the top of the two men inside him.

"We talked about it during the week - if I'm not dominant I won't get the ball," Sironen said.

"It's up to me really as to how dominant I am, how many touches I get."

One man who won't be getting many touches any time soon is prop Keith Galloway, who will miss three games with an AC injury to his left shoulder.

The Tigers are however expected to get back representative duo Adam Blair and Gareth Ellis from suspension for next week's match against fellow top-eight outfit North Queensland.
