Fury as another Kiwi is poached for Origin

Sam Kasiano's impending Origin selection has sparked fury from leading New Zealand official Tony Kemp.

With the Bulldogs star looking increasingly likely to become to second Kiwi to turn his back on the New Zealand national league side in favour of playing in this year’s Origin series, Kemp has hit out at NSW coach Ricky Stuart and Queensland coach Mal Meninga, saying something needs to be done to stop them poaching players.

Despite having signed a letter of intent to play for NZ a mere two months ago, The Sydney Sunday Herald revealed the Bulldogs prop was now being lined up as a replacement for Dave Taylor for the Maroons in Origin III.

Kemp said he had spoken to Kasiano in the last two weeks and was aware he'd been approached to make himself available for the Maroons.

Kemp said Meninga was also pursuing other Kiwi NRL stars who are both eligible to play for NZ and Australia,

I would like to know what is the point of ever signing Letters of Intent if a player is going to do the opposite two months later. It's obviously not a contract. I don't think the issue is allegiances like everyone is arguiing about. It's merely a moral/loyalty issue re what country you would prefer to play for. Letters of Intent seem to be just for the benefit of media hype, something we can do without.

You should have to live in a country for at least 3 years, ideally 5 in my opinion to be able to represent it. I dont want any of these born and bread aussies playing league for us. I dont care where your parents come from and how completely stupid it goes back to where your grand parents were born? It is so stupid. One of my grand parents was born in England in 1928 and left in 1930. Somehow that makes me eligible to play for poms. What brainless clowns came up with this rubbish?

Tony Kemp you are a clown, a total fool, a massive hypocrite. Some names for you Tony you loser - Frank Pritchard, Nathan Cayless, Jason Cayless, Bryce Goodwin, Jason Nightingale, Jake Webster, Luke Covell, Josh Hoffman and Gerrard Beale. They are just the guys I can think of without any research who are 100% aussies. They have never lived and NZ and should never play for us ever. Kemp you a such a clown

What a sad bunch of puppies you are Mel and Ricky. Haven't you got any decent players bro? Scared we'll beat you. What a bunch of sad faced losers. Pathetic. Tragic small man syndrome behaviour. Ha Ha Ha. I can't get over what a pathetic attitude. Mel, I used to think you were a man. No longer, loser.
