Esther Vergeer - a true sporting inspiration
Dutch tennis star Esther Vergeer developed paraplegia at the age of eight but has achieved more than virtually ever single able-bodied person. The wheelchair-bound star hasn't lost a singles game since 2003 and is on a winning streak of 457 matches. That means she goes into the Paralympic Games as hot favourite for the gold medal and is considered one of the most dominant players in professional sports. Esther, we salute you!

A true sporting inspiration
Sports people are able to inspire people - but with the likes of bad boys Jesse Ryder, Kevin Pietersen, Wayne Rooney etc, why would we want them? One of the few people who SHOULD inspire everyone is the amazing Esther Vergeer.
