Chelsea striker Danny Sturridge has no regrets leaving Manchester City.

Sturridge is currently playing on-loan at Bolton Wanderers.

"They were about to start spending a lot of money," said Sturridge. "They have brought in six or seven strikers since I left - Chelsea have only brought in one since I joined them.

"I respect City and everyone who was at the club, people such as Jim Cassell and Alex Gibson. City are in my heart still. I was a kid there and began my career there. But I have no regrets about leaving.

"Chelsea was a big step for me. It was nothing to do with money - City are the richest club in the world. Money is not a factor for wanting to leave there.

"It's a great club, I still have friends there and I still want them to do well."
