Defender Scott Neville has been called into Australia's under-23 squad for next week's four-nations tournament in Vietnam and will miss Perth Glory's next two matches away to Newcastle Jets and Adelaide United.
The 21-year-old has been rewarded for outstanding A-League performances since establishing himself as Glory's first-choice right back.
Neville will join the 20-man squad in Sydney on Wednesday before flying to Vietnam on Friday when his Glory teammates take on the Jets at EnergyAustralia Stadium.
Olyroos coach Aurelio Vidmar said the matches were an important part of the preparation for 2012 Olympic Games qualifiers.
"This is our first opportunity to get this particular group of players together," Vidmar said.
"The majority of the squad that will take us through the qualifiers will be Hyundai A-League based players, so we will need to work hard to ensure that the squad is the strongest one possible for the campaign."
Australia will take on North Korea (September 20), Kuwait (September 22) and the host on September 24 in the four-nation tournament.
