Kiwi footballer suffers sickening head knock

Kiwi footballer Winston Reid has suffered a sickening head knock during West Ham’s clash against Queens Park Rangers in the English Premier League.

The defender was knocked out cold around 19 minutes into the game against fellow Kiwi Ryan Nelsen’s Queens Park Rangers.

West Ham were 1-0 up when a free-kick from QPR’s Esteban Granero ended in a goal-mouth scramble which resulted in Reid being elbowed in the head by goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen.

There was concern for the All White and play was stopped, but he quickly regained consciousness, leaving the field without the need for a stretcher.

This match was the first time two Kiwis had come head-to-head in the English Premier League and finished with West Ham winning 2-1.

il Duce if you are talking to me I am sorry to say that as an old Englishman I saw via live TV England beat Germany in the 1966 Football World Cup. Even though I can't be bothered to watch Rugby I seem to remember England have won that small event trophy as well ? :0)
