Real Madrid players talk up transfer target Modric

Real Madrid players would welcome Tottenham midfielder Luka Modric as a new teammate.

Real fullback Alvaro Arbeloa knows Modric from his time at Liverpool.

Arbeloa said: "I'm glad he is joining Real."

The former Liverpool defender said: "We have many good midfielders, so they have to compete for a spot."

Fellow Madrid defender, Pepe, was equally happy with the link.

The Portuguese international simply added: "I know he's a good player."
