Former Everton youngster Baxter on Crystal Palace radar

Crystal Palace manager Dougie Freedman has confirmed that he is interested in Jose Baxter.

The 20-year old striker is a free agent after his contract with Everton expired at the end of last season and Freedman is looking to get him to Selhurst Park although he does admit there will be competition for his signature.

"What's happened with Jose is he's a young guy that I've had many meetings with," said Freedman in This is Croydon.

"He's a fantastic young player, but he's got offers from other clubs."
