A hamstring strain has forced South Australian batsman Mark Cosgrove out of the Sheffield Shield match against Queensland starting Sunday.

Cosgrove had been included in a 12-man Redbacks squad for the Adelaide Oval encounter.

But after training on Friday, the lefthanded batsman was deemed unfit for the match and Cameron Borgas was summoned as a replacement.

Cosgrove injured a hamstring during SA's drawn Shield match against Victoria last week, forcing him out of last Wednesday's one-dayer against the Bushrangers.

Queensland have recalled paceman Nathan Rimmington, the fast bowler overcoming an ankle injury and replacing Nathan Reardon in their 12-man squad.

Teams:

SA: Daniel Harris (capt), Cullen Bailey, Cameron Borgas, Dan Christian, Tom Cooper, Peter George, Jake Haberfield, Michael Klinger, Tim Ludeman, Aaron O'Brien, James Smith, Matthew Weeks (12th man to be named).

Queensland: Chris Simpson (capt), Glen Batticciotto, Ryan Broad, Lee Carseldine, Ben Cutting, Daniel Doran, Chris Hartley, Nick Kruger, Nathan Rimmington, Chris Swan, Wade Townsend, Scott Walter (12th man to be named).
