New Zealand edged up one place in the latest ICC Test rankings to seventh following the annual update on the ladder by cricket's world governing body.
The Black Caps racked up wins over Zimbabwe and Australia last year, plus two draws with South Africa, giving them 87 points to the West Indies' 84.
England still hold the top spot with 122 points, while Australia move into No.2 on 116 and South Africa lie third with 113.
The Proteas can leap above Australia and England if they win their upcoming Test series against the world No.1 team.
Pakistan, despite a 1-0 defeat in the three-Test series which finished in Sri Lanka on Thursday, have moved up to fourth while India, No.1 this time last year, slip down to fifth, six points ahead of Sri Lanka.| Rank | Team | Won | Lost | Points |

After these local horos finish their 12 months of cricket--they'll be bottom in all tables.Totally exhausted/most will be carrying injuries and some will be hoping for an IPL break.Mugs they are-mugs they'll stay.
ReplyThere are ten TEST playing nations--actualy 9 because lowly Zimbabwe are just back into the fold. The bottom three are West Indies/Bangladesh and Zimbabwe. After these local horos finish in the West Indies the bottom three will be Bangladesh/NZ/Zimbabwe.And based on performances--it wont be long before Zimbabwe thrashes NZ.They only need to have a good finger spinner-a really fast bowler and a couple of bats.Stay calm.
ReplyRight...so we are ahead of Zim with about 650 first class cricketers in the whole country (I know I lived there)...and Bangladesh where they are more concerned with 'where is lunch'...no wonder the players have such inflated egos.
ReplyThese are figures from Aug 2012. If you stop sleeping on the job you will find that the rankings are updated as the series is completed. While you choose to comment on South Africa England series, You did not bother to mention about Black Caps. ICC runs a ranking predictor for all forms of the matches in thier website. You should bother to research before writing half cooked stories. Basically NZYahoo you suck
