We decided to take a break from the widely anticipated 'Caption of the Week' competition last week in the name of rest and recuperation ahead of the All Blacks' Iveco and Tri Nations series.

We certainly don't want to be carrying any injuries into those pun-providing Tests and we detected a drop in overall team performance with the Michael Phelps caption opportunity so better to rest up before coming back harder than before, eh?

But first up congratulations to lance.henwood and kurimoore who are rewarded for their non-trophy winning performances with a week or two off listening to Grant Fox trying to explain what happens in a scrum.

Their winning entries were "Eh Michael vot happened, I thought that zat pot was supposed to enhance ze performance bro?" and "Hey bro, think i can get a invite to your next party? I know some hot as chicks too!".

I can't believe I thought we might get some entries that didn't mention pot or parties with young ladies...

Still, on to this week's competition.

The Bulls ensure South Africa retain some bragging rights ahead of their series with the British and Irish Lions and the Tri Nations by blitzing the Chiefs in the Super 14 final.

But I suspect Victor Matfield and the clown prince of rugby coaches, Peter de Villiers, are laughing about something other than the Chiefs' ability to defend.

So what exactly are the pair laughting about, or what did Matfield say to get wee Petey cracking up?

Remember, all you have to do to stand a chance of winning this week's competition is to beat my feeble effort:

"Hey Peter, remember that time when you said Schalk Burger was better than Richie McCaw?"

The winner, of course, gets a shout-out in next week's competition while the losers will be forced to listen to every Peter de Villier press conference with electrodes attached to their body which give electric shocks when you laugh.
