Links of the Week

The theme this week is failure and our links include a shocking open goal miss and an ill-considered tattoo that might make some players think twice before inking the name of their team on their chest. So sit back and enjoy the mis-fortunes of others.

Shocker of the week

Ilija Sivonjic of Croatian club Dinamo Zagreb shows just how to botch the easiest goal ever.

Doing a Van Vossen
The above link sadly reminded our resident Rangers fan Mike Kilpatrick of an equally shocking miss by Peter Van Vossen against Celtic.

Premature celebrations
A look at the sportspeople who couldn't wait that extra few seconds to celebrate, ending up with egg on their face. The cyclist one is brilliant, obviously not for him though.

Left hanging
LA Lakers star Kobe Bryant gives fist-pumps to his whole team before leaving coach Phil Jackson hanging. Followed by a poor save by Phil.

That's bling
Speaking of the Lakers here's a look at their NBA championship rings from last season.

Sneak peak
Here's a look at the Abu Dhabi Formula One track that will make it's debut this week in the first ever day-night race. A pity there's nothing riding on the race.

Stupid rules are rules
In a story that has shocked the US, or maybe just Baltimore, a cross country team had their title taken away from them because of the stitching colour of the bike pants worn by one runner. Clearly performance enhancing.

Tat's a problem
A College gridiron player in the States has decided to transfer from Boston College to another school. No problem except for the fact he has the Boston College logo tattooed on his chest.

Freaky wrestling move
A wrestler pulls of an amazing move by performing a back-flip before pinning his opponent. Macho Man would be jealous.
