Links of the Week

A good vareity of sports in this week's links including tennis, cricket, football, speedway and even cheerleading, which seems to be the most dangerous sport of all.

The hotties and the notties

The Daily Mail works out it doesn't matter how good you are at tennis, if you're hot you get to play on centre court at Wimbledon.

Speedway fight
This could have made my Best Biff List on Wednesday, if I'd seen if earlier in the week. Two speedway motorcyclists fight while still moving on their bikes before crashing into a wall and keep the fight going. Brilliant.

Tough job being a ball girl
Frenchman Michael Llorda couldn't find the brakes at Wimbledon running straight into a ball girl.

We're going streaking

A Red Sox fan runs on the field during the team's match against the Atlanta Braves. Security guards then embarrass the guy by showing his giggling belly to the world.

Not that cheerful
According to a recent report between 1982 and 2007, there were 67 fatal, disabling or serious injuries recorded in cheerleading across the US.

Science is never wrong
Ever wondered what makes up the perfect soccer player? Neither have I but some scientists have worked out what characteristics do. Interestingly a model girlfriend and gambling habits are not on the list.

Is the 23rd one free?

A former LA Dodger's pitcher has just had his 22nd surgery, including eight since his last game in 2004.

Great skills
More from our favourite Frenchman Remi Gaillard with an array of soccer tricks.

Not a big Flintoff fan
TimesOnline writer Patrick Kidd has an interesting view on Andrew Flintoff asking 'Why is he unable to switch off the "twit gene" that makes him do stupid things when responsibility is called for?'.

The death list
Blog site Deadspin asks the question - Which sports death would affect us like Michael Jackson's?
