Bring on the Welsh
November 07, 2009

Joined up with tour party last Sunday all pretty relaxed in regards to the AB's win in Tokyo. We arrived in Cardiff on Wednesday to fair weather but it has turned a little foul of late.
We all went to the All Blacks training yesterday, it wasn't to bad considering the weather. It was quite interesting to watch two days out from the game. Not a lot of intensity but they did look pretty slick at times, hopefully that continues through til Sunday morning NZT.
Our tour party last night hosted by three All Blacks (Liam Messam, Owen Franks and John Afoa) not taking the field this weekend and the manager Darren Shands at our hotel. It was very well received by the Kiwis and the young ABs relaxed in general conversation about all things. As we all know rugby was the predominant feature.
For the boys it was good to get away from their hotel and have a couple of hours free.
Tomorrow's game has not had a great build up so far, hopefully it will start building tonight. There does not seem to be the same intensity to this test like it was when I last toured here.
In 1989 you could really feel the atmosphere by everyone in the town and especially the media.
Hopefully we can rid ourselves of the debacle that happened here two years ago, even if it wasn't the Welsh.
Warren Gatland's boys will have their hands full tomorrow and we could possibly see them put our new young star on the wing under pressure with a few high balls. Let's hope Zac Guildford shows us why he has been picked.
Tonight's game between Canterbury and Wellington will be another tough game. I would like to see the Wellington boys come through for a change, the possibility of that might be pretty slim without all their AB's. Here's hoping.
The Cantabs will probably be to strong at the end and take out another championship. it just seems to me that the red and blacks are just to professional to lose. Good luck to all.
