In my 16 hours per day of Olympic viewing, I don't think I've caught a single glimpse of the creepy London 2012 mascots, Wenlock and Mandeville. Judging by this recent photo from London, posted by a staffer on Slate's "Hang Up and Listen" podcast, things are the same across the pond too.

We're not even halfway done with the Games yet and they're already consigned to the bargain bin? That's like CVS selling Cadbury Creme Eggs for 25 cents before Palm Sunday! I'm surprised by this: I'd have thought kids would love to sleep with a Cycloptic plush that looks like it's reading their every thought and emotion.
That thing would have caused more nightmares than Prince Charles' smile.
